This is the site that greeted me when I came back to the office on
Monday after having 6 days off. Laurie really did a great job this
year! Hanging from the streamers were different stickers she got from Unamerican Activities
that had different funny sayings. My favorite is on the front of the
desk behind the computer monitors that says "Shut Up Hippy!" ha ha.

Later that day we ordered up some pizzas and had a birthday lunch
where I devoured 4 slices and continued to enjoy apple pie and ice
cream they surprised me with after singing Happy Birthday to me. My
boss, Stu, preferred singing "Happy Birth-GAY to you" instead which
was hilarious!

All in all it was an awesome way to come back to the office, but I ate
way too much and I'm feeling it this morning.

Maddie's Visiting Soon!

My little princess Madison (my daughter) and her awesome mom Karen will be flying back into Denver from Charlotte, North Carolina tomorrow evening and will be here until July 10th. I can't wait to see my little girl. Last time she was here a few months ago her and I went to the Denver Aquarium and had a blast. She was super stoked to see the Tigers at the aquarium. Yes, the Denver Aquarium has two huge tigers in it!

They'll be up in Estes Park this weekend at her family's cabin enjoying the 4th of July festivities and especially for Madison, the huge parade they do every summer. When I talked to her on the phone a few days ago she specifically asked for her and I to go to the Denver Zoo and see the lions and monkeys, and to get ice cream afterwards. The night before we do that we're going to go see Disney's Up...not only because she's been asking her mom to go, but because I'm really eager to see it too. I heard it's really good.

This weekend for the 4th we'll be attending a BBQ at our friends Josh and Angela's new house in the Baker Neighborhood along with Rhonda, Dominica and Mark. Afterwards we might ride around Denver and check out some fireworks, or just chill at Dominica and Mark's place and enjoy fireworks from their 8th floor balcony in Capital Hill that faces west towards downtown. We'll see what happens.

I'll definitely be posting pictures from our time with Madison, and our fun 4th of July weekend.

Star Got a Bike!

I've been wanting Star to get a bike for a long time. She was a bit apprehensive about being on a bike since so much time has passed since she last rode one. I told her she'd be fine, and the one thing I'd want for my birthday this year was for the two of us to ride around our beautiful city together and have fun on our bikes. I hit up the guy who I bought the frame for my fixed gear build from on craigslist to see if he had any 50cm frames that would work for her. He said he had a sweet Univega Supra Sport he could convert into a really nice single speed for her.

I went up to his place after work last week to check it out and instantly knew it'd be perfect for her. After checking out a few other possibilities via craigslist I decided our best bet would be Shawn, since all of his bikes are really well put together, and his attention to detail is unsurpassed for someone doing this as a hobby out of his home for extra cash.

I had Shawn get to work on it and he had it completed within a week's time, ready for pick up. When I first saw the completed beauty I knew Star would love it as much as I did. So here she is, Star's new Univega, and very blue themed single speed bicycle. It's got a really nice Nitto stem, Blue Oury grips, and a Sugino crankset.

After a few adjustments to the seat post and the handlebar stem, it fit her perfectly.

Blue chain! (However Shawn offered up a white chain to match the white brake lines, which I'm going to take it back up to him to switch out for her.)

We finally took it out for a spin last night through City Park, just two blocks from our condo. Thanks a bunch Shawn (HardSole5280)! She really enjoyed it and looked so good riding it. I can't wait to start taking it out for night rides to hit up Illegal Pete's on 16th Street Mall, The British Bulldog, or just strolling around and doing a couple of loops through City Park or Washington Park.

Now I just need to finish my fixed gear build (Code name project: Dewelsby Sprockets). Or Pep Joggletalk, I really haven't decided yet.

It's going to be an awesome summer!

I kid, I kid... but really... grow that shit out!

Enough with the funny stuff. It is too easy and I might as well get to something more serious.

After a wonderful night Chris and I came home to our latest addiction, LOST. Why is it I hate Walter's mom so much? Oh yeah, she's a BITCH! I do not know how a woman who "loves" her child can deny them the most basic thing in their life.... a parent.

A little background on your friend Star...

My mother and father never married. I was raised by my mother and no matter what my mother's feelings for my father were she never let it effect mine. I was always raised to love and appreciate my father. My father eventually married and from this marriage he had a daughter and son. I was left behind and never heard from my father. I felt betrayed and abandoned but never let anyone (until now) know. It was one of the hardest things in life to go through.

Years passed and they had another child. I now have a sister and two brothers. My step-mother divorced my father and took the kids back to England. Later on, my father confesses to me it was my step-mother who wanted him to start a new life. Why would he do that to me? Life hands you a shitty hand and you either make the best of it or cheat, lie, and manipulate your way through. If you go about life this way you will lose in the end. I love my mother for being strong and supportive. I love my father who may have not always been there but will ALWAYS be my father. If my mother would have prevented me from learning these things on my own I would have resented her.

I see these patterns repeating and that is what is sad. Someone very close to me who I adore has two perfect children who I love. The woman from this relationship was warned countless times she will lose the man unless she changed her ways. Change never occurred. They divorced and the mother tries to take her pain out on the father in court. The two children are left to suffer. You can brain wash your children but the day will come when they will think for themselves and it will hurt you far more in the end for pushing your selfish agenda on to them. This woman is in for a reality check. It is already starting and I am sure it is painful to have your children disappointed in you. Why make a bad situation worse than it has to be?

Love and support your children and they will be nothing but grateful. There are two sides to every story and until they can judge for themselves, keep your emotions and negative feelings out of it.

It's even better when it pours.

Life has been extremely busy lately and I am tired. Work has gotten a little crazy and every day feels like there is not enough time in it. I am sent to meetings and trainings and it seems to never end. So much is on my shoulders. Most people have no idea all the stress my job entails. It may be due to the fact that when I'm out of work I leave it there, and think about it in the back of my head.

I was recently in Texas for work and my trip was a stressful wonderful mess.

While in Texas I learned a lot about myself and how I handle life's little bumps. When it all came down to it I depended on myself. It felt really good in the end to know the people in my life are there by choice. I do not keep anyone around by necessity. Each and every person in my life is important to me.

This is the point where this blog becomes more like a schizophrenic love letter.

The real deal when it comes to crazy. This story is to come at a later time.
(Not mine...haha!)

One of the things I wish I had more time to do would be going to Trivia. Our trivia team name is The Holy Sagans and we don't play as often as we would all like. The first time we played we tied for third. Not too shabby for first timers! The last time we played we had a VERY strong start coming in first in the 6th round, but lost the momentum and came in at the bottom in round eight. Let's blame it on the drinks!

We started the night prior to seeing Ludachrist at the Gothic Theatre here having whiskey drinks and yummy dins. Best bar food in Denver! I wish I was camera happy because the crowd was very interesting. There was a real life wizard with a magical staff and everything. This should have, could have been the stopping point in our night. However it being the first official night out since Rho moved back to Colorado from Los Angeles, we had to get a little crazy.

Let me just say this... 5 shots of whiskey and a shot of tequila later at the Gothic and all hell broke loose. You can ask for details later.
Trust me...it is worth asking.

Learn to fly little guy

This little bird was hanging out by my car this morning. I approached it and of didn't move or or fly away at all. It just made some silent beak movements but stood it's ground. Was even happy pose and let me take his picture.

I don't believe he was injured...as I pulled out of my spot he started hopping away towards some other birds.

Atleast I hope it's ok and a cat doesn't get him.

I Hit Two-Hundy Today!

I hit 200 miles on my fixed gear so far this Spring! My ride home today put me over that number by a mile. My goal for 2009 is to ride at least 1,000 miles on my bike. This goal is a combination of commuting to work 5 days a week (average 7+ miles a day doing that alone) combined with random leisurely rides I take. If I start taking part in Loops every Tuesday night I'll add an additional 14+ miles to my mile count each week.

I'm feeling pretty good about it. I got my bike the beginning of last summer and I didn't ride it as much as I would have liked. I would say in 2008 I probably rode about 200 miles, and that's being generous.

I've been keeping track of each and every ride using this cool iPhone app called Cychosis. Not only does it track miles traveled and time spent on your bike, you can track your average heart rate, latitude, weight, etc.

I'm far more committed to the love of riding my bike this year than I was last year that's for sure. Once I get my current fixed gear project completely built I know I'll be even more excited to ride on the bike I built with my own hands, rather than one I purchased. I'm really looking forward to finishing it and meeting and most likely exceeding my 2009 year goal of 1,000 miles ridden on a bike.

Do you belong to Flickr? Chris and I do and sometimes the pictures people favorite confuse me. Not until I click on the user adding it to their favorite list do I realize why the picture made the list. Many time these pics end up as part of a twisted "spank bank".

This picture is of Janae and I on New Years made Hairzer's favorites.

Now here is the fun part... These are the pictures we are mixed in with.

We are mixed in with woman wish hairy bodies and other fake mustaches.

This person loves their women hairy and it looks like they also enjoy edited pictures of hair on celebrities.

There are a lot of other pictures that have made some very interesting favorite lists and I will post more of them in time. This is just an example and I hope it gives you something to think about when someone favorites your pictures.

All day yesterday it was gloomy and drizzled on and off throughout the day. Later in the evening it eventually started raining steadily. Around 11:30pm when going to bed, I looked out the window to see that the rain had turned into a rain and huge snow flake mixture.

This is what we woke up to this morning...roughly 1-3 inches of snow, and beneath it a nice wet layer of slush. Very much what we got hit with just over a week ago.

This had better clear up so I can get back on my bike this week! I don't want to spend the week driving my stupid car.

Skepticamp Colorado 2009

We are very excited to be attending the 3rd Annual Skepticamp Colorado 2009 on May 1st! We wanted to post a blog to help spread awareness of this FREE event and do our little part to promote it to hopefully get more people registered to attend.

I'm particularly interested in hearing newly elected President of the James Randi Educational Foundation, Phil Plait (The Bad Astronomer) speak and provide attendees with updates on JREF. And of course, the always entertaining Bryan & Baxter of the Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society giving a presentation on paranormal research and the media "For Entertainment Purposes Only"!

Hope to see as many familiar faces and new faces as possible this year. So far registries are at 60 attendees, let's push it to the limit of 100 and spread skeptical awareness to the masses!

Bitterness Leads to Ugliness

Why can't people let go of pain and move forward from the past?

I do not see the point in holding on to bitter feelings from the past or even the present. They say time heals all wounds and it does to a point. You may not forget, but you learn and grow from it. Not just the hurt but the ones that inflicted the pain learn as well. What makes it so hard for some to move on, and others to easily forgive and move on?

When I think back to my past I could mull over my mistakes and hurt but I choose to let it go and look forward to tomorrow. Some of the things I have experienced are things some people would NEVER forgive for and even turn vindictive over. But I am not that person. I believe in forgiveness and letting the past be the past. When your bitterness effects other's lives it is vindictive and dangerous. Holding on to pain only makes you ugly and you will never truly be happy.

If you take joy in hurting people you have a serious problem. Be happy living YOUR life and stop trying to destroy others. It takes a very sick person to intentionally be hurtful but to TRY and be the cause of it.

Take a moment to reflect and if you have any bitter feelings let them go because they do not look well on your face. Make everyday count and recognize your own faults. People change and so should you.

If you are feeling any of these emotions I would love to give you a hug.

Twitter Good or Bad?

Is Twitter bringing people closer or further apart? I love my Twitter! I update with meaningless nonsense all the time and enjoy reading the same from others. I feel more up to date with some of my friends than I ever have not to mention all the news and gossip it's filled with. Am I a lazy friend now? I have never been a fan of talking on the phone, it has always felt a bit awkward. When getting off the phone I always say a very quick goodbye and hang up without giving the person on the other line a chance to respond. I hate long drawn out goodbyes. I guessif you are not on Twitter you are not completely out of the loop I just need to care enough to send you a text message or I hate to say it, a phone call. There are a few friends I do not feel weird at all about calling because we have a mutual understanding about what a phone call should be.

In some friendships I feel Twitter was the only time we ever talked and without it the friendship fades away. I either really like people or just don't care to deal with them, my middle ground is very thin and very few people make it there.

Congrats if you are in my top friends or coasting along in the middle ground. Are we receiving too much information about one another? Are we losing the mystery and bond in a friendship we get from non web-based day to day interaction?

All I know is I won't be deleting my Twitter account anytime soon! So either jump on the ship or get left behind. I love knowing what you are eating or laughing at the LOL Cats. Share all your mundane thoughts with me, but do not be hurt if I do not respond to all of them just find comfort in the fact I am reading it and care enough to follow.

Just bought the Sims 2 in preparation for the Sims 3 and I am not having as much fun as I thought I would controlling my virtual life. So far my Sim is unemployed due to the lack of any jobs that interest me. I also picked the wrong aspiration for my Sim and am now struggling to be someone I'd rather not be. This game has gotten a little too real for me. I am bored and would like to give up but I spent money I shouldn't have and need to suck it up and really get my money's worth. I have no clue how to enter story mode and I have a feeling if I did I would be having a much better time with it.
I remember playing Urbz and having a wonderful time, however that was not on Mac or PC. Are these games more like a game and less like life?

Can I also express my frustrations with my maid?! I am paying her good semolons and she can not seem to keep the place clean and this is depressing my Sim. I have noticed nice in the game and can not find it in myself to kick Sims out of my house. I hope I get over this because I have plans to create lives and destroy them on Sims 3. Please give me the strength to slap some Sims around. I'd hate for my frustrations to come out in reality. Wouldn't it be nice to see a virtual version of someone from your real life getting the bejesus beat out of them?

One of the first blog posts I ever made was about an amazing night we had with Rhonda and Alex. Seems appropriate to be writing about them again and more great times spent with them. I plan to revisit this theme and possibly bring back that "year book" feel.

This past Saturday was Rhonda and Alex's wedding reception in Boulder. The actual wedding took place October 31st in Molokai, Hawaii. It was just the two of them beach side in a non-denominational ceremony. If you know the now married Krill's you know they are anything but conventional.

They both looked wonderful and we wish we could have been there. I am thankful we could attend the reception with all their great friends and family. The reception was held at the Shelby American Mustang Museum where hors d'oeuvres were served with one of the most yummy red wines! There was a lot of shmoozing and a kick ass cake with a dinosaur and a shark topping it. After the reception it was time to drink and catch up for missed time (it's been 2 years since the four of us last hung out).

From the museum we stopped at Alex's sister Amy and her fiance Kevin's house. Amy and Kevin are awesome. It's a shame we didn't hang out with them more. We will definitely change that though! We drank wine while deflecting their bouncing dogs who were so excited to see everyone. Their Cairn Terrier, Beamer, turns out to be Motley's brother! (Amy and Kevin got Beamer from the same breeder in Nebraska where Motley is from.) We left Amy and Kevin's, piled into their car and headed out to The Foundry. Here we all shared a huge burrito, pizza, chips, salsa, and guacamole and the drinks and shots seemed endless. The DJ played a Britney Spears song every hour but managed to play most of our requests. It was an amazing night with even more amazing people.

When I started the New Year I made a resolution to myself to be a better friend and seeing Rhonda made me think about our friendship. I never fully appreciated her until learning of their move to L.A. Every time I see her it's like nothing has changed. There is nothing I could tell her without the fear of being judged. She has always been there for me.

I was told before meeting her how much we would love each other and my friend Casie could not have been more right! I can't wait until Rhonda and Alex move back to Colorado this summer. Better friends couldn't exist and never will.

Here I am sitting watching The Other Boleyn Girl from our Netflix instant view que. I would watch it on the telly but Chris sold the DVD player and we started watching everything through the xbox 360. (Netflix on there is genius and if you have not set up your account you need to right away!) Back on track... Our xbox has been given the red ring of death. We have only had it for a year. I had a day of gaming planned. I really wanted to play Fable II and make an attempt at being evil. I figure we could recap from the point we stopped blogging...or I can start from the new year. I vote for starting new. Too much has happened over the last year to cover it all now. Maybe Chris will make a post going over some of the excitement in more detail. I am choosing to go forward from this point on. This all may in the end sound like a big sappy dear diary but here it goes.

I have been feeling somethings in life will never change. I bite my tongue and never say what is really on my mind. I used to be very outspoken and was always taken as a bitch and when I am quiet I am completely shut out and over looked. How do you find a happy medium? I have tried, and when in conversation I sometimes need to repeat myself several times before I am heard. This really kills all my punch lines. I am also too polite to interrupt and speak over someone. Some of the people who are my closest friends really do not know me at all. This makes me really sad and I have been thinking about it a lot since the new year passed.

The one thing that really set me on this path of reevaluating friendships is one comment someone made about me directly to me. I am not sure what the total conversation was but we were all talking about reading and this person turned to me and said "But you don't really read, do you Star?" - What does that even mean!? I am sorry the only book we have ever talked about reading has been Harry Potter but when it comes down to it no one has ever really asked. I love reading. I am currently reading the Golden Compass. Not because it is another fiction that was made into a movie but because of its meaning and message. I am an atheist and it excites me that there is a book that shares my beliefs, albeit a book created for young adults. These are just small parts of me and there is so much more people do not know, but when it comes down to it shouldn't a close friend have known or even wanted to know these things? Or maybe inquired into who I am a little?

I am just tired of the snotty comments and if we are all not careful my inner Naomi may awaken. I really like her character on 90210 and who knows...maybe it will spice things up.

I got laid off last Thursday

Last week I called in sick Monday through Wednesday and returned to work on Thursday...only to find out on Wednesday Washington Mutual decided to lay off about 45 people from my center, including me. This will now be the 3rd time I've been laid off by WaMu. Granted the other 2 times were as a temp, but it still sucks nonetheless. My last day will be November 14th and I will be paid up until then, and afterwards I can submit my documentation to receive my severance package. I'm glad that I'll have the opportunity or better yet the "kick in the ass" I need to get the hell out of the mortgage industry (when it sucks, it REALLY sucks) and get into something new and exciting and more importantly I am actually happy doing. The downside of course being the job hunt and interview process. Not many people post career opportunities 2 months in advance, and I'd like to have a new job lined up within a week of my last day here so that severance can go straight into the bank for a rainy day, and not towards bills.

So wish me luck on my job hunt. It was a good 2 year and 11 month run at WaMu but as the saying goes, all shitty things must come to an end. Or something like that. If you know of anyone hiring or a great opportunity for me don't fail to mention it to me please! :)

Often times at work, I find myself with plenty of free time to mindlessly search the web and enter a variety of different online contests for the chance of winning some sweet prizes. This is the best one yet! Yesterday I received a call from Autumn at Hot Topic's corporate offices in California notifying me my name was drawn in the Drop Dead, Gorgeous custom Shine drum kit contest I entered a few weeks ago. My prize you ask? Above: custom Shine drum kit played by the drummer of Drop Dead, Gorgeous (local band gone national and getting quite the buzz and attention these days) on their last tour, retail value of $5,000. This is AMAZING! Not that I play the drums, but maybe I'll learn now. As you can tell in the photo this is a one of a kind kit and surely stands out. It'll make an interesting decorative piece in our front "loft" area along with my guitars which we've recently dubbed The Music Room. I'm super stoked to get this! It should arrive in the mail within 3 days in a large box Autumn said. I'll be sure to post some more photos of it completely setup as soon as I can.

Wow, what a world we live in. People just go around shooting random people in the head for no reason (not that there is much of a reason to ever shoot someone in the head). This incident occured just 7 blocks away from our home!

A police investigator examines the area where a clerk at 7-Eleven was shot in the head. (Eric Lutzens The Denver Post)A 7-Eleven store clerk was shot in the head this afternoon along the 16th Street Mall. The suspected gunman escaped on foot through a crowd of people before police caught him a few blocks away.

The unidentified clerk was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The outdoor mall was bustling with people following today's Colorado Rockies game when the shooting happened just after 4 p.m., at the 7-Eleven at Champa and 16th streets, police said.

A man matching the gunman's description was arrested a short time later in the 1900 block of Arapahoe Street.

Police aren't saying what motivated the shooting, but did say that the store's hold-up alarm was not activated. Witnesses told The Denver Post it was not a robbery.

One witness, who declined to give his name, said he was nearly "bowled over" by the gunman exiting the store.

No one else was injured.

Rho's sweet new ink!

Here's Rhonda's sweet new 1/2 sleeve! It was done by Hannah Aitchison at High Voltage Tattoo in Hollywood, CA (Kat Von D's new shop). You can see Hannah and the rest of the High Voltage crew on TLC's new series called L.A. Ink starting Tuesday, August 7th. Unfortunately her tattoo was not filmed for the show because it didn't have some lame-ass sob story behind it that apparently makes for good tattoo TV. Weak! However the piece was inspired by Japanese Folklore, it represents Rokuro-kubi Yokai which happens to be very representative of Rhonda's personality and how she lives her life. Really great idea and awesome work by Hannah. Hopefully Alex gets his Dinosaur leg piece done by her and posts it to their Flickr account soon!

I can hardly wait to get back in to see Sandi at Twisted Sol and have her work on my sleeve some more! Ahhhhh.

Skepticamp Colorado and Wii Party!

Saturday we attended the first ever Skepticamp Colorado with John and Janae which was held downtown at the Tivoli Center, on the campus of Auraria College. It went from 9:00am til 6:00pm and was very interesting. Watched presentations on the topics of paranormal debunking, religion, scientific pop quiz, conspiracy theories, and strange psychological treatments for children with attachment issues. All in all was a great experience and we all look forward to attending the next Skepticamp.

Later that night John, Janae, Mat and Jodie came over to our place to hang out, drink and play Wii. Playing Mario Party 8 on Wii only lasted for a little while because we then played Mad Gab. A really fun game where teams have to guess the phrase being said using oddly combined words that sounds out the actual phrase you're trying to guess. It is one hilarious game to play with a group of people, we laughed way too hard at each other.

Wine & Pizza Night With The Doty's.

Friday night we drove down to Littleton to hang out and have wine and pizza with our friends Brian and Erin and their son Trenton. Got 3 bottles of our favorite wine Ecco Damani Pinot Grigio that happens to go with Pudge Bros Pizza rather well! All had a good time eating and drinking and then we spent a good amount of time in front of the iMac taking really goofy pictures! Love hanging out with them because we don't do it much because they live a ways a way and can't get out much because they have a child to look after. If only they lived closer or right downtown, that'd be great!

New Dining Room Table & Chairs!

Finally, after many months of searching, we have completed the furnishing of our living room/dining room area. Star found this Furniture Room table and chairs on Craigslist.com at the awesome price of $300. One of the leather chairs alone is $149, so the bargain we got is evident! Feels really good to have a table to eat at, play games and cards with friends, and most importantly bring the layout of our home together.

20 Minute Thunderstorm!

We always hope for a really good thunderstorm in the summer time. The ones with the lightning that never stops, and the thunder booms that seem like they'd shake the glass right out of your windows. We got a little one, unfortunately as always with storms in Denver, it only lasted about 20 minutes. Boo! These pictures were taken outside the huge window facing the intersection of Park Avenue and Champa Street. You can see how deep the water got in the corners near the sidewalks and the sewers filled up fast because water was spewing right up out of the manholes. It was so much fun being entertained by nature's wrath although it was a short amount of time we really enjoyed ourselves looking out on the world from our favorite sitting spot in our house.

As many of you know I am a huge nerd and like all the basic geek things. Something you may not have known is I like lonelygirl15. I have been watching it from the start and was fooled like most people. I just thought Bree was this strange little girl whom I found mildly entertaining. Once a plot started to develop I became more and more interested and was sucked into the show like most viewers. As if things could not get any sadder I am now starting to have an interest in the KateModern. I think it is the same show but with awesome English accents and better video editing. The shameless plugs got me and I am now racking up new nerd points.

The Captain's BBQ!

Awesome! Our friends finally sent out the official Evite for their summer BBQ. Craig Hook and Casie Hook, otherwise known as "The Captain's" (because of their pirate last names ha ha). They live in a small town a few miles into the mountains called Idledale. We've only been up to their house once so far and had dinner and drinks and stayed the night in their guest room and went to breakfast the next morning at a local country road diner. Good stuff! This BBQ is on August 25th and we're very excited to be up in Idledale again with good friends, good food, and definitely plenty of tasty spirits! Yummm!

Camping in Kremmling!

Over the weekend Star and I along with two other couples; John and Janae and Mat and Jody went on a one night camping trip up to Janae's family cabin located in Kremmling, Colorado. It's about a 2 hours drive into the mountains from the Denver area but we made good time. We all had a lot of fun just being able to kick back and relax, do some drinking, play badminton, pass the Nerf whistle football around, and laugh and have good conversation enjoying the company of friends around the fire once night time fell. Funniest part of the whole night was when we retreated up to the cabin (which has no electricity or running water) to go to sleep. There were 2 beds and Mat brought an air mattress for himself and Jody. We all slept in the upstairs attic area and it was like a sleep over in elementary school where you stay up for hours just laughing and saying random funny things until you eventually all fall asleep. Had a great time and look forward to the next time we get to go camping!

Awww...our good friends Alex and Rhonda started their own Flickr so we can all share pictures with each other. They used to live here in Denver but moved to Los Angeles a few months ago. Rhonda went to work for an Adult Film Company (nothing dirty, behind the scenes office stuff) and Alex is going to land a sweet sous chef position at a bad ass fancy restaurant so he can put his college skills to work. This is the first picture of them they put on their Flickr. We miss them a lot, and always had a blast when we'd all hang out. Hope to make it out to California to visit them soon.

Over the weekend we went to our friend John and Janae's house to hang out and drink some tasty libations. This is the first time we've seen their house, and we were blown away. It's so rad and spacious, we're jealous! Also brought our Wii over and played Big Brain Academy in teams, it was so much fun! John loved playing the Wii. I guarantee he'll have one of his own within a month's time! His dog Duke happens to love the beer John was drinking, so his girlfriend Janae let him have the last few drops. Drink up buddy, you've got a lot of lying around licking your red rocket and napping to do! HA HA!

He Is Legend Photos

Our friend Dan finally got around to e-mailing me a few photos from the He Is Legend show we all attended on 07/07/07. First one is of Schuyler, the lead singer and Adam, one of two guitar players in the band. Last year in June when they came through their former guitar player McKenzie was still with him and ended up hanging out at our old apartment for the day which was only blocks away from the Marquis Theater. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows!!!

We totally dorked out on Friday night. Attended the special release of the 7th and final book in the series at Tattered Cover on Colfax. Got there around 11:00 pm or so and walked around checking out the different things they had going on for it, wand widdling, Quidditch try outs, face painting, potions class, etc. Purchased our certificate that guarantees you a hard back copy when it is finally released at 12:01 am. They had about 6 different lines in front of the locations you were able to redeem your certificate for the book upon release. We chose the outdoor line that was swerving around behind a little white truck with the back of it closed. At 12:01am on the dot they opened up the bag of the truck and started trading books for certificates. It took us less than 10 minutes to step our for our turn to get our very own copy. Also managed to snag one of the boxes the books actually came in! :) It was an awesome time and the first time for both of us experiencing this kind of frenzy around the release of something. Both of us are REALLY excited to read this book and find out how it all ends. Sweet!

1969 Cadillac DeVille

This is the 1969 Cadillac DeVille convertible that has been sitting in the driveway of Star's grandmas house for some time now. It belongs to her Uncle David, who now lives in Phoenix, Arizona. It was once restored to mint condition in his ownership, but after having kids and spending all of his time working and building custom bikes, it was neglected. The guy he gave it to along with the title has yet to come and get it towed away so he can began work on restoring it yet again. After talking with grandma she told us if the guy doesn't come to get it by the end of the month, to ask Uncle David if he'll give it to us. All we'll have to do is get the guy to hand over the title to us. It'll cost a lot, and no doubt take a long time for us to restore it and be able to enjoy the awesomeness of this classic car, but we're down for the challenge and think we have a few tricks up our sleeve that could work to our advantage! We'll see what happens, but we would really LOVE to own this car and be seen cruising around in it one day. One day!

Funny little Bronson!

Bronson is kind of like a little kid, or not too far from enjoying the simple things in life us humans love to do while driving. Wish I had video of this instead, but a picture will have to suffice. He hangs out the window (with Star keeping a good hold of him of course!) and will pick his little paw up to feel the wind passing through his toes. Much like we would with our arms/hands, riding the waves of wind as if we were hand surfing. He is too funny, we really get a kick out of seeing the little amusing things our little guy is capable of surprising us with day to day.

My friend J-Rod is a small short guy, into dark deathly stuff, and anything that could severely hurt someone. However totally awesome all at the same time. He found this fit for a birthday gift this year. Saaaaaaaaaweeeeeeeeet! It's a huge black military style machete. Dang, I gotta get this thing hung on the wall or something. Last year he got me a rad white handled straight razor that's hard to find these days. Super nice! If he keeps this up in a few years (birthdays) from now I'll have quite the collection of random weaponry ha ha.

YES! Finally a Wii!

We have been looking long and hard to get our hands on this beautiful gaming machine! Finally this week Star found one on craigslist! Brand-new, still in the box, never been used for not much over the retail price at all. SCORE! We are really excited about this, it has been a lot of fun so far. We're going to try out GameFly.com to rent some games before spending on $60+ on a game we may or may not like. Personally I'm excited about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Transformers, and the Spider-Man 3 game on Wii. However nothing will match the awesomeness of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock when it is released on Wii later this year!!! Funny enough just last week at Star's grandmas house we retrieved her also still in the original box NES (That's Nintendo Entertainment System for you non-nerds). I remember getting my first NES when we lived in Germany when I was 8. It was a big deal. I remember my dad saying he couldn't believe how good my hand-eye coordination was as such a young age. Probably the reason why I did and do so well at guitar these days! ;) Also can't wait for the new Duck Hunt 2007 to be released later this year. Quack quack! BANG! You're dead duck!

Chris' Birthday Extravaganza Round Two

Anticipation was eating away at all of us waiting for the big night of Chris' birthday bash but it was well worth it. We had bottle service waiting for us and the whole basement of the Whiskey Bar as our playground. There was a foosball table, darts, and plenty of room for us to cause a ruckus. When it was time to leave the bar everyone came over to hangout. It was a night to remember and fun was had by all. Chris' Brithday Extravaganza Round One

The weekend of Chris' birthday was a lot of fun. All he wanted to do is go see He Is Legend at the Marquis Theater. I have never been the biggest fan of He Is Legend but after watching them play live all I can say is amazing. Those guys know how to put on a really good show! We rocked out and at the end of the night Chris walked away with one of their shirts and a CD from Maylene & the Sons of Disaster who played right before HIL. It was a really good night. We walked home and enjoyed the perfect night really taking it all in.

At home I told Chris he could open one of his gifts. He was pretty stoked to find that one was a Transformers toy. Optimus Prime to be exact!

The next morning I made Chris a big breakfast while he lounged around in his pajamas. After breakfast Chris opened his presents and he was pleasantly surprised at all the goodies he got.

The first round of Chris' birthday went very well and I was just happy to see him smile.

So last year I threw Chris a Birthday party at a place called Grenade. I reserved an area where we could play Xbox and have drinks. It was a really good time! We played music on the jukebox and started our own mini dance party. It was something to be seen. Haha!

This year I plan to top last year's festivities and on the 7th I'm taking Chris to He Is Legend and toasting at midnight. He is very lucky one of his favorite bands is playing so close to his birthday. The following weekend I reserved the basement of the Whiskey Bar and plan to make this party more memorable than last years. I am sure we will have tons of pics to post here and to the flickr account so check back after the 15th!

So I am sure many of you did not know Chris grew a massive beard for the winter. (6 months to be exact.) Friends and family were counting down the days until he shaved it off. I personally loved the beard and loved the handle bar mustache he rocked for a day after shaving it. But like all good things they come to an end. He has however replaced the beard with growing his hair long. Lets see how long before he cuts this as well.

Chris and I gathered our friends together and went to the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur Colorado this year. The weather was perfect and we actually got there at decent time. We saw many shows and even bought some really cool pirate mugs that we drank out of. Chris and I do not like beer but drank it because it was what was there. Let's just say it did not agree with my tummy and I had some problems the next morning. Haha

The week before Christmas our friends who are in the band A Thorn for Every Heart came to Denver to play a show. Little did they know there was a big blizzard making it's way over the city. Driving a van while pulling a large trailer was not the safest but they made it downtown only to find the show was canceled. (The last time they were here their show was canceled due to weather in Boulder.) Shortly after finding out the show was no longer going on and getting stuck in the snow they made it to our place to stay the night. I made dinner for everyone and Chris, Kelvin and Justin braved the whipping wind and snow, and trudged through the already foot and a half of snow that had fallen, and made their way to the nearest liquor store. After all, it was going to be a long night. We all had a great time and was one of the funnest snowy nights any of us have had.

(I am not in any of the photos because I was too busy making sure our guest were happy and I took on the role of photographer - Star)

This is a video we made with some of the footage we had from the night, their fans loved seeing what they did that night, in light of the show being cancelled.

Chris' Tattoos

Since starting this blog, we haven't touched on the progress of Chris' right arm full sleeve (a work in progress). There is still around 3-4 coloring sessions remaining (12 hours or so maybe) in order to have it fully complete. The little zombie dog is Bronson. It is morbid but cute.

Hi!!!

Yeah yeah it's been a while since we've updated our blog...I know! I was bored at work and figured I'd throw a funny picture up for now, we plan on updating with more pictures from the past few months tonight. This is just to tide you over, if you will ha ha.

So Chris and I have been very busy. I am very sorry we have not been keeping up with the blog the way we should. I am going to attempt to condense what has been going on into one posting.

We went to Cali for Thanksgiving. I met Chris' father Jim Bossom and his wife Rhonda for the first time. It was all very exciting. We did a lot sight seeing and shopping. I also met Chris stepsister Brandi and her boyfriend Chris. Brandi has two adorable children named Mikaela and Julian. They made me miss my cousins and were a joy to have around. We played on the beach and cuddled. I felt very at home and am very grateful to have met everyone.

I know I said we have been busy and most of it has been with work. I took on a new position at work and it doesn't give me much time to post like i had before. Chris will also be taking on a new position at work. He was recently promoted and I am very excited and proud of him.

I recently started posting on a YouTube account. I am just learning how to post and what not but if you like check it out.

Oh and our friends came to town to play a show and ended up getting snowed in. The video and pics are on the YouTube account.

Now i was thinking how could i show you all what we have been up to in the easiest way possible. Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words so here are a few that will hopefully fill you in.

I have been so busy and for to the few of you that read this I am sorry. Many of you know last weekend was my Birthday! I turned 26 and it was not bad at all. It was actually amazing! I had so much fun!

Friday I went to dinner with Rho-Rho and Alex. We ate pizza and had a couple of drinks. I finally gave Rhonda a stuffed donut I hand sewed for her. She seemed like she really liked it.

I was very excited for my gifts Alex and Rhonda gave me. The bought me the cutest toys from Japan. I have them all on display right now on a shelf! I even got a little donut. I will have to post some pics.

Chris and I were tired so we rented a movie and lounged around together and went to bed early for the official birthday day. Hehe Chris made reservations for the Melting Pot and we met my mom, grandma, and Mopie. It was chaos. I kept laughing when it was time to cook. There were so many different things cooking at once. It was the best! We all stuffed our faces and my mom kept stealing my martini's.

Let's see how many will fit... The other pot only had 4.

Later we went to my grandmas and played games and she made my favorite carrot cake! Mopie fell asleep and I put popcorn in his hair. Bwhahaha!

I got lots of great gifts and cards from amazing people. Thank you all so much! Near or far you are all my family.

Ooooo one last thing. I made my mom a scarf...

Sunday was the last free day at the Denver Zoo for this year, and despite the inclement weather, we decided to go! Here are a few pictures from our slightly fun filled day (few hours).

So Chris doesn't have time for this blog. He is too busy scratching his ass and picking at his nose. It is ok it is now the kitten blog.

So yesterday at work I found a white powder on a safe deposit box and I contacted all the proper authorities and no one seemed to care. I know it could be nothing but on the same hand it could have been something really bad. Something like ANTHRAX! Well head of security thought I should go check it out and see if I could open the box it was smeared on and find out what it was. I said no of course and so he asked to speak to my manager. I am not sure how the conversation went but my manager went up to the box and looked at it and decided to wipe it off! He thought it would be appropriate to come and tell me the "evidence" is gone. He cleaned it off with his hand. This is coming from a man who almost shit his pants because he thought an I.T. box was a bomb. Oh man some people.

Last crazy thing... Our vault teller walked out on her job today. Apparently she was drunk.

These chihuahuas are Yumi and Bronson. We've had Bronson for a year now and he is awesome. Such a wild and crazy character!!! We only had Yumi for a short amount of time until we decided she would be better off with owners who had more time to dedicate to training her and being patient during the potty training. Sold her to a sweet young couple in Lakewood. I gave the new owner a call today to check up on the little thing and she said she was doing great. She re-named her "Pixie". Sounds like one of the girls who didn't make it into Jem and the Holograms. WTF?!

Some girls, I'm tellin' ya. Yumi was sooo much better.

It looks like we are going to Casie CooCooCaChoo's Saturday. I already know this is a good time waiting to happen. I plan on making and consuming some tasty drinks. Casie lives in Idledale so we definitely plan on bringing our PJ's!

Poor Bronson is going to be the smallest dog there. Last time Bronson got a tongue bath from Copper.

I hope this wicked cold is gone by then...

Isn't it great when you have an awesome night and almost a week later find something that reminds you of how crazy of a night it was. Chris sent me some very funny pictures from last Friday. We went to 3Oh!3 and Alex's last Grace Gale show. We all did many shots and had many drinks.

Chris has the man crush to end all man crushes. Christopher Walken! For Halloween he was Colonel Angus from SNL. Chris is already planning on another Walken themed costume for next year. His jack-o- lantern was Walkens profile. For the love of god this man can never die. I do not know what we would do.
